Nursing Assistant

**Taking Time to Deliver CARE **

Nursing Assistants ARE THE CARETAKERS.

We are there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: We strive to make their days happy and comfortable. We are the ONE on
ONE caregiver in their life, we love our Residents having the most contact with them outside of their family members.
Although we cannot give them the Care they TRULY deserve, we watch out for them as best we can.

dia_bluve.gifOUR PRIORITY IS TO THE RESIDENT

It is the only priority we should have. The Angels walk with us and with our residents, and God gives us the strength to help these people.
We lift them we cradle them we need the strength in our loving arms to keep them safe from falls and pain.

One of the things you have to have in an environment of helping the disabled and the elderly, is a "Special" kind of love and understanding.
These special people take us into their heart also: they and their families put their trust in us daily they depend on us to be there for them
and with them to make SURE the care is given Nursing Assistants are responsible for ROM (Range of Motion). Feeding., cleaning, showering,
giving out snacks, transferring them safely, dressing, doing personal care, walking with them, talking to them and MUCH MORE.
(if time allows) . What better way to communicate a wonderful relationship?
**Taking Time to Deliver CARE **

God gives us this special feature, and our endurance comes from another power within. Our Hearts. Not our Profits. Nursing Assistants
don't profit by $$. We Profit knowing our resident is comfortable, clean and fed.

Nursing Assistants play a vital role in the delivery of quality, consistent care to individuals in Nursing Homes and
other long term care  environments.  We recognize the important  work of the Nursing Assistant year round.
These are just times of recognition, but a  time to celebrate the warmth and dignity Nursing Assistants bring to
the lives of others. We must all have a Certificate III to work in Aged Care

   Just a Nursing Assistant

Someone asked me what I do for a living. I said, "I'm a Nursing Assistant.  I work in a nursing home." The person made a face and quickly
changed the subject. A lot of people don't understand my job. Many people wouldn't do my job. "Not for all the money in the world," they say. Neither would I. There is something special about this job. My patients need me. They really depend on me. I not only care for them; I care
about them as well.
Being a nursing  assistant is not a glamorous job! It's a very important one though. I take pride in my job and in my work.
There is much to learn. I try to improve my skills and myself. Things do get hectic. Sometimes the call-bells seem to go off all at once.
Family members ask me to do this or that. They all want priority. I do the best I can. My work is the kind of work many sons or daughters
can't or won't do! Yet somebody has to take care of the sick and the old. So, I bathe and shower my patients. I want them to be fresh and
clean. I comb and brush their hair. I want them to look nice. Their hands shake and tremble so I have to cut their food and help them eat.
I want them to get the proper nourishment.
Now do you understand why my job is so important? These people really need me. They depend on me. That's why I feel I am a very
special person.
Even though I am "Just a Nursing Assistant".
